As you probably already know and are also probably sick of hearing over and over and over again, the Vikings in 2016 became the sixth team since 1990 to miss the playoffs after starting a season with five straight wins.
The fifth team to do it will be in the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks.
They did add in free agency Pro Bowl cheap jerseys center Alex Mack, who stabilized their offensive line, and wide receiver Mohammed Sanu, who caught five passes and scored a touchdown in Sunday beatdown of the Packers.
And they got immediate impact from the defenders they drafted, starting with safety Keanu Neal in the first round followed by Deion Jones in the second and fellow linebacker De Campbell, the former Gopher, in the fourth. Rookie tight end Austin Hooper has helped, too.
Those offseason moves have paid off, but the biggest difference for the Falcons is that their defenders are now in their second year in Dan Quinn scheme and quarterback Matt Ryan is expected to be named league MVP in his second year with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.
So the Vikings, after their stunning collapse this past season, don need to completely overhaul their roster to get back in the Super Bowl picture. But it is worth noting the Falcons were the only team from this infamous group to cheap nfl jerseys bounce back the following season and make the playoffs.
The first team since the NFL expanded the playoff field to 12 teams in 1990 to collapse after starting 5 0 was the 1993 Saints, cheap jerseys who had former Vikings quarterback Wade Wilson under center. Wilson was replaced by Jim Everett in 1994 and the Saints went 7 9 that following season.
You probably don need a history lesson on the 2004 Vikings, who like their predecessors squandered a hot start but still somehow managed to back into the playoffs at 8 8 and win a playoff game.
The Giants in 2010 signed free agent safety Antrel Rolle, let linebacker Antonio Pierce go and drafted defensive end Jason Pierre Paul and nose tackle Linval Joseph, now a Pro Bowler for the Vikings, with their first two picks. They ended up going 10 6 that year and still missed the playoffs.
After starting the 2009 season 6 0 before missing the playoffs, the Broncos in 2010 ushered in Tim Tebow Time, drafting the Heisman winner in the first round along with wideout Demaryius Thomas. They went 4 12 that season, with coach Josh McDaniels getting canned midseason.
This is obviously a small sample size, one with a wide range of outcomes, so there is no trend here. But given the talent the Vikings will return in 2017, if they can find a way to fix their offensive line, they are more likely to be back in the playoff hunt than the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick.
Charles Aranguiz and Jose Pedro Feunzalida scored in the first half as defending champion Chile returned to the Copa America championship with a soggy 2 0 victory over Colombia on Thursday.
Led by Claudio Bravo stellar effort in goal, Chile earned its fourth straight win since a 2 1 loss to top ranked Argentina in their Group D opener. Next up is a rematch with La Albiceleste in Chinese jerseys the final Sunday night in New Jersey.
Chile also faced Lionel Messi and Argentina in last year championship, with La Roja winning 4 1 in a penalty shootout after a 0 0 extra time draw. Argentina was the last country to repeat as Copa champions in consecutive years, accomplishing the feat in 1946 and 1947.
James Rodriguez and Colombia got off to a slow start and their push for 2017 Nike Russell Wilson elite Jersey for Cheap a comeback was hampered by a strong line of thunderstorms that delayed the start of the second half by more than two hours, drenching the playing surface and making it difficult to stay on your feet at Soldier Field, home of the NFL Chicago Bears.
Colombia, which will face the United States in the third place game on Saturday night in Arizona, also had to play with 10 men after Carlos Sanchez received his second yellow card in the 57th minute.
Rodriguez got open for a low, hard shot in the second half that Bravo knocked down before pouncing on the ball before Colombia could get to it. Rodriguez pounded the wet turf in frustration after the play.
Chile played without Arturo Vidal after the skilled midfielder was suspended for a second yellow card, and defensive midfielder Marcelo Diaz was sidelined by injury. The defending champions lost another midfielder in the first half when Pedro Pablo Hernandez was unable to continue following a collision near midfield.
The familiar foes arrived at the final four of South America championship coming off wildly different performances in the quarterfinals. While Colombia needed penalty kicks to eliminate Peru after a 0 0 tie Friday night, Chile roared into the semifinals with a 7 0 victory over Mexico that included five second half goals.
Each country picked up right where it left off.
Colombia coach Jose Nestor Pekerman talked Tuesday about his team inability to finish, and the same problem showed up again in the country first appearance in the Copa semifinals since 2004. Roger Martinez drive was stopped by a diving Bravo midway through the first half, and Bravo denied Sanchez with another lunging stop right before halftime. Rodriguez also shot wide on another prime opportunity.
Meanwhile, Chile quickly jumped out to a 2 0 lead, taking advantage of a Colombia mistake and making the most of another sharp play from Alexis Sanchez in his 100th appearance for the country.
Moments after the pro Colombia crowd of 55,423 whistled and jeered while Chile passed the ball around its cheap NFL jerseys own end, a cross by Fuenzalida was inadvertently headed back into the middle by Colombia midfielder authentic Raiders Jerseys Juan Cuadrado. Aranguiz ran to the middle and volleyed it right by goaltender David Ospina for his first goal of the tournament in the seventh minute.
Then Alexis Sanchez cut inside to get open for a shot that bounced off the inside of Ospina right post and rolled toward the middle. With Ospina still on the other side after trying for a diving stop, Fuenzalida was all alone for the easy tap in 10:44 into the game.
Robert Griffin III isn't the type of quarterback to run out of bounds, and Sean Weatherspoon knew it. The Atlanta Falcons linebacker kept up the pursuit and went for the tackle. His upper body rammed into the helmet of the rookie who doesn't shy from contact.
Griffin was down and done. A mild concussion, according to Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan. On a day in which the Falcons' usually powerful offense was a bit out of sync, the defense had made a play that changed the game.
Matt Ryan went on to lead three scoring drives in the fourth quarter Sunday, scraping together enough points for a 24 17 win that gave the Falcons their first 5 0 start in franchise history.
"I felt like he was still turning upfield, so I was just trying to make a play," Weatherspoon said. "Most quarterbacks would probably slide out of bounds or run out of bounds, but he's a tough guy."
And there was no dispute. It was a clean hit.
"It felt like a good play," Weatherspoon said. "I think it gave us a little energy."
The play turned a third and goal from the 3 to a fourth and goal from the 5 late in the third quarter. The Redskins then kicked a field goal to take 10 7 lead, and Griffin's replacement, fellow rookie Kirk Cousins, managed one big play in his NFL debut that put Washington in front one more time in the fourth quarter.
But, otherwise, the post Griffin section of the game belonged to the Falcons. Julio Jones dexterously got both feet inbounds on an 18 cheap jerseys yard catch just beyond the pylon. Matt Bryant stayed perfect on the year with a 53 yard field goal. Michael Turner ran 13 yards for the go ahead score with 2:46 to play. The defense intercepted Cousins twice in the final two minutes.
The Falcons, mistakes and all, remain the only unbeaten team in the NFC.
"I don't know why you want to ask me any questions," Atlanta receiver Roddy White joked as he stood at his locker. "We stunk it up in early in the game."
The Falcons didn't score until the final minute of the first half, but Ryan kept throwing and throwing and throwing. He finished with 34 completions on 52 attempt for 345 yards with two touchdowns and one interception a screen pass picked off by Washington linebacker Ryan Kerrigan and run back 28 yards for the game's first score. Ryan also fumbled away a snap, Atlanta's first lost fumble of the season.
Ryan guided Atlanta to his 18th career game winning drive in the fourth quarter or overtime. That is the most by a quarterback in his first five seasons in the Super Bowl era.
Tony Gonzalez caught 13 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. The TD was the 99th of his career, tying Gonzalez for eighth in NFL history with Hall of Famer Don Hutson.
Jones had 10 receptions for 94 yards. White snagged four passes for 68 yards. Turner ran for 67 yards on 18 carries. Impressive numbers until you remember that Washington has one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.
"We were our own worst enemies in the first half," Atlanta coach Mike Smith said.
The Redskins (2 3), losing their eighth consecutive home game, were meanwhile left to deal with an ironic wound. There was cheap nfl jerseys abundant concern that Griffin was susceptible to injury when he was taking hard hits while running option plays frequently in his first three games.
But Shanahan scaled back the option over the last two weeks. Griffin didn't have a designed run play Sunday. He ended up getting hurt while scrambling because he couldn't find an open receiver something that every quarterback does.
Team spokesman Tony Wyllie said the Heisman Trophy winner was examined by an independent neurologist before being sent home from the stadium and will be evaluated again Monday. Griffin also got a cut on his chin.
"When he wasn't really sure what the score was, what quarter it was, we knew he had a mild concussion," Shanahan said.
About three hours after the game, Griffin tweeted: "I'm ok and I think after all the testing I will play next week."
Cousins, a fourth round pick from Michigan State, went three and out in his first possession. Sav Rocca shanked the punt, and the Falcons drove 47 yards to take a 14 10 lead on Jones' catch.
But Cousins put the Redskins ahead again about a minute later, when Santana Moss ran deep down the middle wholesale jerseys without a defender anywhere near him. The 77 yard pass made the score 17 14 early in the fourth quarter.
Ryan came back with two drives that gave the Falcons the win. Bryant's field wholeale jerseys goal tied the game, and Turner's run was the decisive score.
Cousins had two more chances to rally the Redskins, but Dunta Robinson and Thomas DeCoud picked him off to end Washington's final two drives.
"With Robert not being in there, definitely allowed them to change up their scheme," said Redskins running back Alfred Morris, who ran 115 yards on 18 carries. "They were flying downhill a lot faster. It definitely affected our running game. Once he wasn't in anymore, they were just able to pin their ears back."
NOTES: Washington K Billy Cundiff already on thin ice after missing three field goals the previous week was wide right from 31 yards in the second quarter. . Falcons injuries: RB Antone Smith (hamstring) and LB Stephen Nicholas (ankle).
On the same day, a 2.7 magnitude quake was recorded in Waterville. On Monday, a 1.7 magnitude and a 3.3 magnitude quake hit the same area.
The quakes are in the vicinity of known fault zones capable of causing serious damage in the Puget Sound region as the Seattle Fault line is believed to be capable of a magnitude 7.2 earthquake.
"We think the Seattle Fault is complicated," said John Vidale of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network. Vidale also serves as the official seismologist for the state of Washington. "It could be in that system of faults, but we don know if there a primary fault wholesale jerseys down there, and if there is if these earthquakes are on it."
What makes the Seattle Fault so dangerous is that it very shallow, rising to the surface.
"It very interesting of course," says PNSN seismologist Renata Hartog. "Because how the Seattle Fault wholesale jerseys is driven from below is interesting to know. We don know that very well at the moment."
But scientists want to learn more, and each quake becomes another data point for study, bringing the inaccessible depths under Puget Sound into sharper focus.
The Pacific Northwest could experience "The Big One" in our lifetime.

"Everybody on the team is just trying to keep the dream alive. It'd be nice to finish undefeated," wide receiver Gary Clark said yesterday after the Redskins moved one step closer to the second perfect season in NFL history.
With Mark Rypien throwing for 442 yards and tying Sammy Baugh's team record with six touchdown passes Black Friday Deals for Cheap & Wholesale Jerseys three to Gary Clark the Redskins burned Atlanta's gambling defense and routed the Falcons, 56 17, to boost their record to 10 0.

The only cloud on the horizon is that the Redskins keep suffering injuries in bunches.
Five players running back Earnest Byner (knee), tight end Ron Middleton (ankle), offensive lineman Russ Grimm (ankle), defensive lineman Charles Mann (knee) and defensive lineman Tim Johnson (shoulder) went out yesterday.
Middleton, who left the locker room on crutches, and Byner appeared to be the most seriously injured, and the Redskins will get an update today on their status.

The loss of Sanders made it difficult for the Falcons to play their normal, pressing defense with the corners one on one against the Redskins' Posse of Clark, Art Monk and Ricky Sanders.
"They lived by the blitz, and they died by the blitz," said Redskins middle linebacker Matt Millen. "It wasn't very scientific. They brought a lot of people, and Ryp had some nice reads."
The problem is that the Falcons didn't once get to Rypien, who's been sacked only four times all season. That gave him the time to wait until his receivers got deep against man to man coverage and then unload.
Offensive guard Mark Schlereth said, "It was unbelieveable that they would come [blitz] that much."
Clark said, "It puts a lot of pressure on your defensive backs."
The result was that Rypien hit Clark on touchdown passes of 61, 19 and 82 yards and also threw a 9 yard touchdown pass to Terry Orr and touchdown cheap wholesale jerseys passes of 19 and 64 yards to Monk.
"That's their style of football," Clark said. "They play rough and tough, and they say they're going to come at you with all they've got. It's worked for them against other teams."
Clark, though, said that not many teams try to play the Redskins that way these days.
"We used to get a lot of one on one in the old days. Since 1987 or 1988, we haven't gotten much one on one," Clark said.
Most teams figure it's too dangerous to play the Redskins' receivers that way.
"That's what we're paid to do [get open]," Clark said. "If we don't get open against man on man, we're not earning our money."
They earned it yesterday. Clark caught four passes for 203 yards, Monk seven for 164 and Sanders three for 29.
Linebacker Jessie Tuggle and defensive backs Tim McKyer, Elbert Shelley and Brian Mitchell (twice) were the victims on the touchdown catches. On Clark's second touchdown catch, he was alone because the Falcons tried a zone. That didn't work, either.
"We couldn't play man [without Deion Sanders], and we couldn't play zone without a mental breakdown," Atlanta coach Jerry Glanville said.
