It has been awhile since the Detroit Lions (5 0) hosted the Chicago Bears (2 3) under the bright lights on Monday Night Football. The Lions may have not been there in awhile, but showed that that they know how to perform. The Bears on the other hand continued to struggle as they cannot keep the pressure off Jay Cutler in the pocket as the Lions got their hands on him more than a little bit.
The Lions got the ball to begin the game but could not do much as they only moved the ball 20 yards before punting the ball away. The defenses came to play as neither team could get anything going in the first quarter.
With .06 seconds left in the Lions got the ball and took it into the second quarter. After two plays Matthew Stafford (19/26, 219 yards, 2 TD's, 1 Int) dropped back and hit Calvin Johnson (5 receptions, 130 yards, 1 TD) for a 73 yard touchdown pass that made it a 7 0 game.
The Bears got the ball on the ensuing drive and Matt Forte (22 carries, 116 yards) had a 14 yard run to start the drive. Jay Cutler (28/38, 249 yards, 1 TD) then hit tight Kellen Davis (3 receptions, 25 yards 1 TD) 17 yard pass. Cutler moved the ball around as he also hit Dane Sanzenbacher (6 receptions, 64 yards) for a 15 yard gain, but the drive stalled and they had to settle for a field goal. Robbie Gould came on and made a 44 yard field goal that that made it a 7 3 game.
Detroit got the ball on the ensuing drive, but ended up punting it away as the Bears defense stepped up. Chicago took over and Forte had a 19 yard run this time to start cheap jerseys the drive. Cutler then hit Devin Hester (5 receptions, 32 yards) with a 26 yards pass. Forte then had another big run, but this one went for 23 yards. Cutler then gave the Bears the 10 7 lead with a pass to Davis for a touchdown.
With 1:11 left in the half the Lions got the ball with a chance to move down field. Stafford hit Johnson with a 12 yard pass to get a first down. Stafford later on dropped back to pass and had the ball picked off by DJ Moore. The ended the half as Cutler took a knee to go in halftime up 10 7.
The Bears got the ball to start the second half and went three plays and out punting the ball back to the Lions. Detroit took over and got the ball moving as they went 55 yards on the drive. Stafford hit Johnson to get a big first down and get them in Chicago territory. The drive kept going as they got 15 yards added on to a Tony Scheffler catch that went for 12 yards. After the penalty by Brian Urlacher, Stafford hit tight end Brandon Pettigrew (4 receptions, 39 yards, 1 TD) with an 18 yard pass for a touchdown. The score gave the Lions a 14 10 lead with 9:55 Cheap China Jerseys to go in the third quarter.
The Lions got the ball at the 5:32 mark of the third quarter and on their first play from scrimmage Jahvid Best (12 carries, 163 yards, 1 TD) broke for an 88 yard gain. Best gave the Lions a 21 10 lead with that touchdown.
The third quarter ended and the Lions had just punted the ball away to the Bears. Chicago actually lost 11 yards on this drive before they was forced to punt the ball away. The defenses held firm until the Bears got their offense moving. Chicago moved the ball 57 yards on this drive to get cheap jerseys in field goal range. The Lions answered with a field goal of their own as they moved the ball down the field. Best broke a 15 yard run to get them closer to the endzone.
